Bars Duty Manager

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic team player with experience in operating an entertainment-led liquor operation.

About the role:
The Bars Duty Manager is accountable for efficient and safe running of the venue. Supporting the Venue Manager they are responsible for the opening and closing of the venue in line with the company standards, the effective management of each shift, including team rostering team, proactively resolving any issues, stock and till controls. They are responsible in providing an environment that allows the team to perform at their best and for the guests to have a memorable experience. This role may include working across all venues in the department.

Key responsibilities:
Takes ownership during the shift, ensuring consistent delivery of a quality Butlin’s experience in line with brand and venue guidelines
Monitors speed of service and delivery and is proactive in arranging appropriate resources/support to ensure the guest experience is not affected
Demonstrates and role models a commitment to delivering a superior guest experience in everything you do
Role models the mission statement values and leads by example by working alongside your team and supporting them during operating hours.
Competent and knowledgeable in the delivery of the venue and department’s operating standards.
Confidently deals with guest and team concerns with the ability to solve problems with empathy and understanding
Prioritises the guest to ensure their experience is the best it can be, and they leave delighted.
Leads and coaches the team at all times.
Creates an environment where every team member is encouraged to never stop looking and learning to perform at their best.
Takes accountability for ‘on the job’ training and verification of the standard achieved
Takes accountability for the delivery of the first 90 day process for every new team member, including personal development plans (PDP’s) performance reviews and coffee chats
Is aware of individual team members goals and supports them through coaching to achieve these through the Butlin’s way of working
Supports with the organisation and roll out of department activities, including compliance training
Understands how to recruit a great Butlin’s Team Member
Have sufficient understanding of all systems and processes within the department to make informed decisions during your shift
Have sufficient knowledge of budgets and other influencing factors to make decisions during your shift
Have sufficient understanding of online roster system to support the Venue Manager to produce accurate and timely rosters and timesheets
Have a high level of operational knowledge specific to your area of expertise and shares this knowledge with the team, continually looking for better ways of working
Understands cost controls within the department and acts accordingly
Understands and always delivers against the five critical questions to drive team engagement and works with the Venue Manager to identify opportunities to provide and engaging and fulfilling place to work
Demands the best of yourself and others and addresses performance issues in a correct and timely manner
Ensures compliance with relevant H&S, Food safety, compliance regulations etc within your area of responsibility

The ideal candidate should have:
Knowledge of and understand the Butlin’s Way of Working and Bourne Leisure Mission Statement
Experience in a busy bar environment
Previous experience of leading a team
Understanding of different communication styles and an ability to communicate effectively
A problem-solving attitude
A positive and flexible approach to work
A BIIAB personal licence qualification is desirable
