The purpose of the role:
We are looking for trainee chefs to join our busy catering team. You will be assisting in the smooth, safe, hygienic running of the kitchen and in the production and presentation of food, ensuring the team deliver a dining experience that our guests will value and remember. Our kitchens are fast pace, but don’t worry –regardless of whether you’ve worked as a chef before or not, we will help you gain the skills you need for this challenging role. All we need from you is commitment and hard work so you achieve the standard we require. Our kitchens vary in size - some have approximately 5-10 chefs who cook to order for all our self catering guests and day visitors. Our large half board restaurants serve breakfast and evening meals to approx 1800 guests daily.
We are looking for candidates who:
Have a willingness to learn new skills
Have an enthusiasm to deliver a fantastic dining experience to all our guests
Team players with a 'can do', problem-solving attitude
Flexibility, reliability and punctuality
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload
