With an annual investment of over £15m, Butlin’s takes entertainment seriously – a role in our professional team will allow your career to develop and flourish. Delivering a wide variety of shows, you will perform to very large audiences, with the support of a well-trained and highly skilled team.

Butlin’s is proud to work with industry leading choreographers, directors, Musical Directors, producers, costume designers, set, props and special effects teams. Our production shows are designed in a collaborative fashion to ensure we use the best creatives in the business to create production shows that really wow the audience.

    You need to be 18 years or over to work within the entertainment department and ID will be required at registration (passport or full birth certificate with proof of National insurance number).

  • What roles are you auditioning for?

    We’re looking to cast our Redcoat team for 2020, with contracts starting in January. We’re looking for talented people to take up roles in our Redcoat Activity Team and our Redcoat Animation Team.

  • What’s the difference between the roles?

    Redcoat Activity Team
    The Redcoat activity role requires you to have good communication skills and excellent customer service experience. Our Redcoats are the ultimate holiday hosts. They’re all friends, philosophers, and guides to our guests, so this role is perfectly suited to candidates that love interacting with people.

    The Redcoat Activity Team is responsible for all the Redcoat activity in our resorts. This could involve running a circus workshop, DJing, hosting a venue, or running an arts & crafts class. The role is really varied, which is why so many of our team enjoy it!

    Redcoat Animation Team
    Our animation team is responsible for bringing to life all our characters and character-based stage content. They can take up various roles in the shows. This might involve live hosting, character/skin work performances or dance/movement opportunities.

    To be considered for a role in the Redcoat Animation Team, movement/dance experience is preferable. All animation Redcoats will undertake general Redcoat duties alongside the delivery of their animation role.

  • I’m not a performer, is this role for me?

    If you love working with people and enjoy varied tasks, then yes! Please don’t be put off by the word ‘entertaining’ or think you have to be a performer to be a Redcoat. This role is perfect for people with experience in retail, customer service or tourism. If you have a performance skill, we’ll help develop it. But if you don’t, we’ll just use your people skills and develop those instead.

  • What do I need to wear?

    Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. You may want to bring a change of clothes if you want to wear something smart, but make sure you have the option of something you can easily move in, including footwear.

  • What will the day consist of and what time will we finish?

    The day will be run in stages. This will consist of a one-to-one interview, some team-building and presentation group work, followed by a movement/dance audition. We may make cuts at certain stages if we feel we have seen enough in the audition. If you’re successful at every stage, then your day will be longer! Please be expected to stay all day, but we’ll aim to finish by 5pm.

  • Will I need to prepare anything?

    Your day will be planned out for you. But it can be quite long, so you might want to bring along some snacks or a packed lunch. It is advisable to bring some water for the dance/movement audition.

    You may also want to think about the role you’re auditioning for and familiarise yourself with Butlin’s and our entertainment.

  • How do I apply?

    This Is an open audition, so you can just turn up at one of the cities and venues outlined above, we look forward to seeing you!

Production singer and dancers

Our entertainers are famous across the land. We’re on the lookout for super-talented male and female production singers and dancers. Dancers will learn a suite of shows, with a mixture of dance styles, from commercial to contemporary. And we’re looking for versatile singers, with competent movement ability, amazing performance skills, and strong vocals.

    Singers invite only audition

    If you are invited, then you would need to be available to attend one of our audition dates at the below locations

  • What roles are you casting for?

    We’re looking to cast exceptionally talented male and female singers and dancers. These roles will be self-employed and contracted to work from one of the Butlin’s resorts – Bognor Regis, Minehead or Skegness – as part of a cast.

  • Will there be day duties with the performance roles?

    No, these roles are purely production based – so shows only.

  • Will I need to prepare anything?

    If you’re going to the dance audition, then no. Your routine will be planned out for you on the day.

    If you’re invited to audition as a singer, you’ll be supplied with audition songs, lyrics, a backing track and guide vocals to learn.

  • How do I apply?

    For dancers, we’ll see you in London or Birmingham as It’s an open audition!

Skyline gang

The Skyline Gang are legendary. Together with their dog, Rainbow, they’ve been entertaining Butlin’s guests for over 15 years with their fun-packed shows. We’re looking for brilliant ‘triple threat ‘performers – ones that can sing, dance and act. These roles are great for graduates of performing arts that want to work in the industry on a 12-month contract.

    Registration opens at 10am and closes at 11am, so please arrive within the hour. Please note, these auditions are open, but you will be required to prepare our pre-selected audition songs and script piece.

    You need to be 18 years or over to work within the entertainment department and ID will be required at registration (passport or full birth certificate with proof of National insurance number).

  • What roles are you auditioning for?

    We’re looking to cast versatile singing and dancing actors to join our performance cast, for contracts starting in January 2020. You’ll get the chance to appear in our fantastic Skyline Gang shows and take on lead understudy roles in The Little Mermaid and Paddington at the Seaside.

  • Will there be day duties with the performance roles?

    The performance cast roles we are casting for are purely performance based. There are no day duties, but you will perform two activities as the Skyline Gang – Circus Skills and Dance Academy.

  • What do I need to wear?

    Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, but please bring dancewear.

  • What will happen on the day and what time will we finish?

    The day will be run in stages. We will audition your vocal talent, dance ability and acting skills. If you succeed in every round then be prepared to stay all day, but we’ll aim to finish around 5pm.

  • How do I apply?

Technical support team

The technical team are our beating heart. Their roles are really varied because of the diversity of our entertainment, from live bands and theatre shows to pantomime and children’s entertainment. We’re looking for committed team players to join our busy Entertainment Technical Support Teams.
